I'm interested. What inspires you to write or take photos or paint or draw or whatever it is that you do? Is it the song playing on the radio, the raindrops on the windshield, the old photographs of your long, lost love? Is it your current significant other? The conversation you heard on the bus? The little boy who threw a tantrum in the mall? Tell me.


I've been keeping my eye out for inspiration myself, and here's a list I've come up with... Either IRL things I like or things that I like to read/write about in general.

- Telephone wires -> electricity towers -> birds on telephone wires.
- Wind towers.
- Coffee -> in dirty mugs -> or in chewed-on styrofoam cups.
- The color grey.
- Cigarettes -> weed -> hard drugs -> addicts.
- Fog -> rain -> puddles -> with gasoline.
- Trees (especially in fog) -> silhouettes -> birch trees (all of these especially in winter)
- Music boxes.
- Wind chimes.
- The feeling of summer as a kid -> popsicles from cornerstore -> (dirty) bare feet.
- Fireflies.
- Antique record players. Antique typewriters. Antique phones.
- Dusty, vintage things.
- Dirty mattresses and stained wallpaper (thanks to Jay). Faded, floral wallpaper.
- Mohawks. Long (stringy) hair. Dreadlocks.
- Head tats - tats in general.
- Rings.
- Worn, soft money/playing cards.
- Dandelion puffs.
- Abandoned buildings. Rotting barns.
- The ocean -> sea birds -> seashells -> piers.
- Babies crying with no one listening (also thanks to Jay).
- Mellow music.
